Plant Varieties

The Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers’ Rights Act, 2001

was introduced to safeguard existing plant varieties, encourage the development of new ones, and protect the rights of farmers and breeders. Our team assists clients with registrations, oppositions, enforcement actions, renewals, and representation before the relevant authorities and tribunals.

The Biological Diversity Act, 2002 protects India’s ecosystems and ensures fair sharing of benefits from biological resources and traditional knowledge. We help clients with approvals from the National Biodiversity Authority, patent filings involving biological material, compliance reporting, benefit‑sharing agreements, and representation before the NBA and its committees.
